Who I Am

AS OF 2/2/09: I AM LOOKING FOR A JOB IN PLANNING/CONSUMER RESEARCH/INSIGHTS EITHER WITH AN AD/BRANDING AGENCY, DIGITAL AGENCY, OR DESIGN COMPANY.

Why such broad targets? IT IS NOT THAT I CAN’T DECIDE WHICH KIND OF COMPANY WOULD BE MY BEST FIT. I BELIEVE THE ROLE AND OPPORTUNITY FOR PLANNERS/STRATEGISTS (even us juniors) HAS EXPANDED. AS A ‘NEW’ PLANNER, I THINK IT’S GOOD TO BE FLEXIBLE IN MY JOB SEARCH.

I ALSO BELIEVE THAT THE SMARTEST BRANDS CREATE SOLUTIONS THAT ARE REFLECTIVE OF THE WAY THE AUDIENCE LIVES AND BEHAVES. SUCCESSFUL BRANDS KNOW CONSUMERS AREN’T DUMB SO THEY FIND WAYS TO CREATE VALUE AND MEANING TO THEIR LIVES.

I’M LOOKING FOR: A junior strategy or insights role with a company/agency whose business it is to create the most relevant brands, products or solutions. My ideal employer also realizes the importance of digital and social media.

You better hurry before someone fills it our for you! 🙂

hah…yes, I think I’ve neglected beefing up these sections of the blog…but…I’m always ‘contemplating’ who I am, what I’m doing, where I’m going etc. It’s a work-in-progress.

Hello Courtney, i’m not sure where to post this but i was trying to locate your email address, as there were some questions i wanted to ask you about your MAS experience.

You rock! Love this blog. You have motivated me to continue blogging. Thanks!

Hello Courtney, nice blog you’ve got here. I’m aspiring account planner myself, and was looking up reviews online abt the MAS BC which led me to here.

Just curious, I always had the impression that from the connections gained at MAS, coupled with a good addition to your CV, getting a planning job should be much easier, no? It worries me a little that more than a year after you graduated from the BC, you’ve yet to find a planning job. I thought this was what MAS was supposed to help you with. How’re your fellow coursemates doing now?

For me, I’m debating between doing the MAS BC, and getting an internship/traineeship at an ad agency, which will hopefully lead to a full-time job if I perform well. What are your thoughts on this?
